Power to the people

Though I try to avoid political comments , this is truly a historic movement in our lifetime. Egyptians must feel proud today for having overcome oppression peacefully. They have shown that in spite of all the stereotypes of Arabs in the media,  they have protested peacefully and have overcome a great deal of adversity with this 3 weeks of protest. I hope their hopes and dreams are realized. This blog is dedicated to the people of Egypt, particularly the 300 + people who have died for this cause. The ancient civilization of Egypt can still give peace a chance.

Incidentally I met one of the medical students from your place studying his clinical years here atSt Georges Hospital, London. He came to my theatre list to learn anaesthetics and told me you taught him anatomy!

  3. Hi Naga
The tour operators have cancelled the Egypt tours. I am happy for Egyptians and they have achieved democracy by nonviolent means. your previous blog on Martin Luther King, Gandhiji etc would be very relevant for this.

  4. Thanks for the comments. I think Egypt has a long way to go, but for once they are deciding their own future and that is great.

India have started well in this world cup. Our batting looks solid. Subcontinental conditions I think Shewag will be unbeatable except for running out my favourite cricketer Sachin. Kohli is the man for our future. Fielding is the area to be improved.
